Workplace & Community Mediation

Conflict at work rarely stays contained. Left alone, it spreads into stress, sick days, lost productivity and, too often, the resignation of someone you couldn't afford to lose.

I'm a UK Mediation accredited mediator. I help organisations resolve workplace disputes, and I also mediate neighbour and community disputes.
The aim is always the same: a fair, respectful, people-centred resolution that everyone can live with.

The cost of leaving conflict alone:
-
A quarter (25%) of UK employees — around 8 million people — have experienced conflict at work in the past year. (Source: CIPD Good Work Index, 2024)
-
The most common forms are being undermined or humiliated (48%), being shouted at or having a heated argument (35%), and verbal abuse or insults (34%). (Source: CIPD, 2024)
-
People who experience conflict at work are twice as likely to leave within the year — 33%, against 16% of those who haven't. (Source: CIPD, 2024)
-
Workplace conflict costs UK organisations an estimated £28.5 billion a year — over £1,000 per employee. (Source: Acas, 2021)

Why mediation, and why early:
-
Dealing with conflict through formal procedures costs more than three times as much as resolving it early and informally. (Source: Acas, 2021)
-
Organisations that bring in early resolution like mediation see a 20–25% drop in formal grievances. (Source: Acas)
-
70% of employers believe they have effective procedures for resolving conflict — yet only a third (36%) of employees who experienced it felt it was fully resolved. (Source: CIPD, 2024)
